Color Your World Winner and Top 3

Hi everyone! Laurie here to bring you the winners and Top 3 from my April challenge.

I was so excited to see so many wonderful entries celebrating spring or the splendid colors around you for this challenge “Color Your World”.  There were so many creative projects that choosing just a few was extremely difficult.

First of all I would like to thank our wonderful sponsor this month Creative Embellishments

They have a $25 gift certificate for our randomly drawn winner this month!

The lucky winner selected by Random.org is….

No 28 - Lynn Price from Experiments in Paper

Congratulations Lynn!!
Please email us via the email link on OCC and we will get your voucher code to you asap!
 Have fun shopping!

And now for my Winner and Top Three for the April challenge “Color Your World”

.

My winner Suman blow me away with her use of watercolor paints, texture paste, and acrylic paints with stencils. The stunning flowers just popped right off the page. What a delight for the eyes with all the fabulous details. Thank you Suman for showing us how you “Color Your World”.

And now my Top 3...in no particular order……

Athanasia Papantoniou embraces the challenge for colors in her work with such beautiful style. I adore the whimsical look of this canvas as the little girl dances with the delight of Spring.

Joi has a bright vibrant style happening on this canvas. She added a colorful flowering tree and texture on this springtime background. If you peek below the tree you’ll see cute little bunnies and an adorable puppy. This creation says springtime to me.

Rupa has so cleverly created her own spool from empty brown tape rings and old CD’s to incorporate it into this wonderful spring piece showcasing her adorable family. Lots of beautiful details to see in this altered project.

********************************************************

Thanks so much to all who entered the April challenge.

There were so many more I would have loved to feature here today. I must say I truly enjoyed seeing all the spectacular entries. What a wonderful thought that this world is so colorful and filled with so many creative people like you who inspire us!

Why not join us and you could be our next month winner or Top 3!
Just hop over to Shari’s challenge “April Showers  bring May Flowers” and have a go!

You could even win a fabulous prize from this month's sponsor Designs by Ryn!

Remember you have to be in it to win it!

Christmas Leftovers Winner and Top 3

Hello Everyone!

Pamellia here to bring you the Winner and Top 3 from my 'Christmas Leftovers' Challenge.

I was just blown away by the spectacular projects that I saw last month! I've never seen so many crafty uses for leftover bits in all my life! I would like to thank everyone who raided their recycle bin and turned garbage into art! What a talented group of artists you all are!

First let's announce the randomly drawn winner of the prize donated by our wonderful sponsor last month Nicecrane Designs:

The lucky winner selected by Random.org is...

 Karen P

Congratulations Karen!!! We hope you have a lot of fun with your prize!
*******************************************************

And now on to my 'Christmas Leftovers' Winner and Top 3...

The winner of my 'Christmas Leftovers' challenge is -

I fell in love with this project the moment I saw it! Such a gorgeous card full of frosty layers and shimmery bits, a work of art by anyone's standards! Glamour and grunge married together, what a beautiful sight! There are so many wonderful textures and frosty metallics, I dare you to not to ooh and ahh!

Sara really captured the spirit of my challenge, she used so many leftover Christmas bits on her project and in such creative ways. Acetate packages, bit and bobs from the Christmas tree, gift packaging...every piece of this stunning card came from something that might otherwise have ended up in the trash.

There was just no denying the work, creativity and brilliance that went into this stunning card! Every detail thought out and carried out with incredible style and flair!

Well done Sara Emily and Thank You!

And now for my Top 3 (in no particular order)

Cec's amazing sewing kit was originally a Christmas gift card tin! Can you believe that, what an amazing use of an item that would normally go in the garbage! I just love the aqua and gold palette and there is so much detail on such a tiny surface, absolutely fabulous project from top to bottom!

Niki's steampunk work of art was made out of lots of leftover Christmas bits, including one of my favourite ideas for recycling ever...her 2014 calendar!!! WHAT!!! Absolutely incredible! There are so many wonderful textures and details here that I had a hard time looking away once I saw it! Spectacular job!

RosA

I almost fell over when I discovered that this gorgeous wintery book was actually made out of a leftover shortbread cookie box and textured with leftover tissue paper!! AMAZING!! I just love the frosty colours and the wonderful techniques used to create this fabulous project!

***********************************************

Thanks so much to all who entered my 'Christmas Leftovers' challenge. There were so many wonderful projects to choose from, I really wish I could have featured more of them!

You could be here next month as our Winner or Top 3 - Just hop over to Julia's 'Tic Tac Toe' challenge and have a go! You could even win a prize from this month's sponsor
Tando Creative!

Remember, you have to be in it to win it!
Hugs, Pamellia :)

LITTLE Christmas Winner and Top 3

Hello all,

Alison here with one final duty to perform at Our Creative Corner... and what a pleasurable duty it is.  It's winners time!

I hope you're all recovering from the festive season (though there's really another two days to go for the full 12 Days!).  I've had a great time, not least with visiting all your fabulous tiny creations for my Have Yourself A Merry LITTLE Christmas challenge.  Thank you so much for sharing your amazing creativity with us.  It wasn't easy deciding on the Winner and Top Three but eventually I got there.

First though, I'd like to announce the winner of the prize from our sponsor last month, Tando Creative.

The winner, selected by Random.org is....

Congratulations Erin! We will be in touch soon to arrange delivery of your Tando prize!

*****************************

And now, drumroll please for the Winner and Top Three...

The winners of the Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas challenge
are
The Elves in the Attic (appropriately!) with their Off Kilter Christmas Humour.

This trio of Stampotique ATCs is just terrific.

I love the shabby book page backgrounds with the gentle wash of colour.

I love the vivid colouring on the quirky characters.

And I love the downbeat humour of the words.

Congratulations to Julie Steed - the power behind the Elves!

***********

And for my top three, in no particular order, I went for...

Definitely a trio after my own heart - delicious soft vintage blues and browns, fabulous crackle, and great stitching detail... and such powerful words too.  Delicate, detailed, textural and so beautiful.  A really glorious trio of ATCs.

I love the attention to textural detail on this rustic ATC - brick wall behind, woodgrain for the window frame, Stickles for the snow, as well as great tinting on the sentiment and a lovely glow around the candle flames, shining out into the snow.

Something really appealed to me about the bold, simple look of this ATC, with its smart red border echoing the tinted accents of the image.  I love the chalkboard stamping effect, and the fabulous inky splattered look of the background.  (Great photo too!)

***********************

Congratulations to all the winners - but, seriously, a huge thank you to all of you who played along.  I could have picked my winners five times over!!

So that's it from me... and sadly it's the end of my very last duty as a member of the Our Creative Corner Design Team.  I'll wish you a very fond farewell, and leave you in the excellent hands of Laura and her brilliant team.

The January challenge, hosted by one of our fantastic new designers, Pamellia, is already well under way, so come and share your Christmas Leftovers with us by the 28th January.

Check out all the challenge details and rules to make sure you're in with a chance of winning the prize draw, sponsored this month by the wonderful Nicecrane Designs.

Happy Crafting all!
Alison xx

With a Song in your Heart Winner and Top 3

Hello everyone, Alison here to announce the winners from my With A Song In Your Heart challenge.

Before I reveal the winners, I'd just like to say how much I loved seeing the projects created specifically for this challenge.  Sadly there were many projects which didn't qualify, having not included the song title/lyrics on their projects, but those that did get it right got it SO right... there were some truly fantastic creations to admire, as varied as the songs which inspired them.  In all honesty, I wish I could give a winners' badge to all of you that really played this challenge properly, so thank you for that.

*******************

Firstly, let's find out who was picked by Random.org to be the winner of the prize donated by April's sponsor, Tando Creative, and that was...

#22 Shari, with this brilliant take on Soft Cell's Tainted Love.

Congratulations, Shari - please send us an email to claim your prize.

*******************

Now to my winner...

I loved the musical message tucked in the top of this altered bottle, as well as the lovely soft chalky finish and subtle colour palette.  And if you hop over to Nikki's blog, you'll see the Message in a Bottle (by The Police, of course - what a song! what a band!) is washed up in some beautifully coloured driftwood too!

Thank you, Nikki.  Do grab your Winners Badge, and we hope you'll join us for a Top Talent feature soon.

*****************

And now the Top Three, in no particular order...

#2 Shaerfchen's Kreative Welt a.k.a Dagmar

This exploding box card is just so much fun.  There's such movement in the dynamic composition, and a fabulous retro feel, really capturing the spirit of the song.  And the song title on the wing of the flaming car tells you all you need to know - Viva Las Vegas (by the one and only Elvis Presley) indeed!

#31 magpieheaven a.k.a. Julie Ann

These fabulous Lynne Perrella clowns are only the inside story on this project - to find the song lyrics you need to see the front cover which asks "Are We A Pair?", a line from the haunting Send In the Clowns by Stephen Sondheim.  The detail and the storytelling in this bewitching creation are just wonderful.

#29 Lylac Sparkle Creations a.k.a. Deborah

I loved Deborah's thoughtful post about what inspired her in these lyrics from En Vogue's Don't Let Go.  The piece she created about a moment of losing control and falling in love is beautifully evocative, with those butterflies being released to flutter freely out in the world.

Congratulations to each of you!  Please grab your Top 3 badge and we hope you'll wear it with pride.

*******************

There's still plenty of time to play along with Linda's Love Those Leftovers challenge. Please read the challenge guidelines and our rules carefully to be in with the chance to win a prize from our generous sponsor this month, Crafty Individuals.  There'll also be some more Sponsor Spotlight projects later in the month so you can see Crafty Individuals' gorgeous products in action.

Don't forget there'll also be some more Birthday Quiz posts along shortly, so keep an eye out to find out more about each of the members of the Design Team.

See you soon!

Captured Memories Winner and Top 3

Hello friends of Our Creative Corner.  Thanks so much for dropping by today to see who we have chosen for the winners of our July challenge Captured Memories.  We had 51 sensational entries into our challenge, each and every one special in its own way.  We were so inspired by your work and we do thank you most sincerely for playing along with our challenge!

It's always a challenge for us to pick a winner, visiting blogs numerous times in an effort to narrow down the field of favorites.  Having gone through that process with the July entries, we have now come up with our overall winner and top three favorites.

Our July Captured Memories challenge winner is -

No. 36 - Susan Janicula - Klistersoster

Susan's entry is an altered book.  I really love how she treated the cover and what a wonderful photograph she used on it.  Such beautiful vintage hues and fabulous texture!

Just look at the memories she has captured inside. Such a sweet little basket and picket fence. And the back cover is equally as wonderful. Great work, Susan, and a huge congratulations on being our July winner.  We will look forward to getting to know you better in an upcoming Top Talent feature post.

Top 3 (in no particular order):

No. 6 Rita - RMG Creations

Rita created a chunky ATC just loaded with seaside goodies reminiscent of her childhood visits to the sea.  How wonderful that she included a photo of her brother as a child.  What an awesome way to capture and display such fond memories!

No. 32 Julie Ann Lee - Magpieheaven

I just loved the shabby chic style beauty of this card that Julie Ann created as a 45th anniversary card.  Such beautiful colors and laces and wonderful vintage photographs on the outside and when you peek inside it's personalized with a photo of the anniversary couple.  I can just imagine the delight with which this card was received.

No. 35 Yvonne Garner - Journey into Artistry

Yvonne has created a wonderful vintage style card with a lovely stamped, stenciled and tinted background.  I love that sweet vintage photograph she has included and the charming seaside theme of the card.  The tiny bottle of sand is such a fun embellishment!

Congratulations to all of our July winners.  Please feel free to grab your respective badge from our sidebar to display on your blog.

And another huge thank you to all who joined in our challenge.  We are so grateful for your participation!  Don't forget, we have our August Words, Words, Words challenge running through August 28th.  We hope you will play along with us again this month.  And don't forget to stop by on August 15th to get your second dose of inspiration for this challenge as the other half of our team will post their samples on that date.
