Papercraft Tic Tac Toe

Hello paper crafting friends! Holly here again for another fun week in papercrafting.

What a great turnout of projects we've seen come through the "Making Melody" challenge. Its fun to see how each of you took the theme to heart and made some really great projects. If you didn't get a chance to enter your project, hop on board for this week's "Tic Tac Toe" challenge.

Sometimes childhood games are just plain fun, aren't they? One of my four-year-old's favorites is Tic-Tac-Toe (although he's not very good at it but don't let him know that!). This week, I thought it'd be fun to take a little inspiration from this simple concept of "three in a row". Play along with us in a game of papercrafting tic-tac-toe. Choose "three in a row" on the Tic-Tac-Toe board and make sure you work those elements into your papercraft project. When you post your project, include the "three in a row" on your blog.

Take a look at what our designers have put together this week for this creative challenge to get you on a roll. Make sure you make your way to our Guest Designer Tracey Vidal's blog and drop a little thank you to her for being our guest this week.

Over the Edge Winner

A big “thank you” to everyone that graced our gallery with your beautiful entries for our “Over the Edge” challenge. We had a total of 86 entries and boy .... was it tough to narrow it down to just one winner, but we did … and I am proud to announce that our Top Talent for this week is: Wendy Bickford of Mrs B's Spot.

We just loved this gorgeous easel card that Wendy created for her grandson, the image is so adorable and her colouring skills are outstanding! Take a look at the shaded/dotty background it works so perfectly with the elements on this card from the dotty background papers to the super cute buttons, love the texture of the twine and the orange ribbon and of course his name is written in buttons! A fabulous boy card and so well deserving, Congratulations Wendy on being our choice for Top Talent!

Feel free to take our badge to display on your blog!

It's not too late to still play along with this weeks challenge, "Making Melody", have you got yours in the gallery? We'll be back on Saturday with a new challenge and some new inspiration!

Making Melody

Happy Saturday paper crafting friends! It's Holly hosting this week.

I've enjoyed seeing the projects submitted for Tui's "Over the Edge" challenge. I hope you got your project in this week - we'll announce the challenge winner on Wednesday. If you didn't get a chance to enter your project, join us for this week's "Making Melody" challenge.

Music can be such a motivating thing in life, why not in your papercrafting too? Take inspiration from a song and work it into any papercraft project you'd like - a card, a gift tag or some other paper craft project. Be inspired by the lyrics or the feeling you get by listening along. Just make sure your post includes the song title (and if possible the artist) that inspired you!

Take a look at what our designers have put together this week for this fun music-inspired challenge to get your on a roll. Be sure to cruise by our Guest Designer Anni Karten's blog and drop a little thank you to her for being our guest this week.

Winner - Black and White with a Splash of Colour

Thank you to everyone for your beautiful entries to our Black and White with a Splash challenge. What a great response there was and we thoroughly enjoyed viewing all of your fabulous creations. So without further ado, our winner for this week is ... Lisa of You Made Me Ink

A fabulous card in every way, love the splash of blue on this spectacular black and white backdrop with such glorious texture and dimension, from the beautifully bordered frame to that great image (had a little giggle at this one) and of course those flowers with the pearl centres and jewelled hat pins provide a lovely touch of elegance and style. And who would've thought that a cut out newspaper heading could work so tastefully! Well done Lisa and Congratulations on being selected as our Top Talent. Feel free to take our badge to display on your blog.

It's not too late to still play along with this weeks challenge, "Over the Edge", the creations so far are spectacular, have you got yours in the gallery? We'll be back on Saturday with a new challenge and some new inspiration!

Just Say No - PLEASE!!!!

This week's challenge here.

If you blog much, especially if you are on a design team and leave a lot of comments, you have seen the new Word Verification format that Blogger has instituted.  This is making it very difficult for us to leave comments, sometimes requiring us to enter letters two and three times because we can't make out what the letters are.  We are all busy and while we love to leave comments on your wonderful work, we will no longer leave comments on blogs using word verification.

If you are concerned about spam, go to comment moderation.  I personally moderate all comments 14 days and older.  I find that if I do get spam it usually hits the older posts.  While searching the internet for this Just Say No button, I came across a very informative post on how to turn off word verification.  So rather than reinvent the wheel, I am going to refer you to the post on the Ramblings and Photos blog.  If you need help figuring out how to turn off word verification, there are step-by-step directions and photos to walk you through.  Thanks so much to Ashley Sisk for her very informative post on the subject!

You may not even know that you are using word verification.  I believe it is turned on automatically when you create your blog.  Now is a good time to check to see if you are using it.

Feel free to leave us comments on how you feel about our new approach and as always, we thank you for stopping by Our Creative Corner.

Over the Edge

Happy Saturday and welcome back to Our Creative Corner.

It's Tui here and I am happy to be hosting our challenge again this week. Thank you to everyone who took part in our Black and White with a Splash of Colour challenge last week.  There were a lot of fantastic creations and we were simply amazed at the stunning array of cards in the gallery! On Wednesday we will be announcing our Top Talent .... it could be you!

This week the challenge I have for you is "Over the Edge" - create a card, or paper craft item with a design element that is not restricted to the boundaries of the card edges, and continues to flow off the edge of the card, for instance this could be a die cut element, a sentiment banner, a fussy cut image, ribbon etc. Push your design to the edge .... and have fun!

And just to get your inspiration flowing, we have the very talented Karen Squires of Stampin by the Bay joining us this week as our Guest Designer. Be sure to stop by and say "hi", and of course our fabulous design team have some great samples which will surely get your creative juices flowing!
